Volunteers Opportunities at AOS PDF Print E-mail

Man with chef hatVolunteers are an integral part of the AOS team. Their skills and talents are utilized in various ways to enhance the services offered in the Alzheimer Outreach Day Program. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to apply as volunteers.

Volunteers work closely with Recreation Program Specialists and can either work directly with the Recreation staff or can be assigned tasks which reflect their interests and abilities. Some volunteers enjoy meeting and greeting clients upon their arrival to the program. Others, thrive on the challenge of facilitating a small group program such as baking, painting, or playing a game. Many of our volunteers participate in musical programs by singing along, providing the musical entertainment or by dancing with the participants. Serving refreshments, joining clients outdoors for a walk, or helping with the horticulture programs are other ways in which volunteers help.

Occasionally, volunteers with a second language can assist in translating client conversations. We work with our volunteers to make sure that they are comfortable with the tasks they perform.

If you have any questions or comments about our volunteer program please e-mail us or visit us at 2022 Kains Road, London, Ontario. We appreciate the efforts of our volunteers and celebrate their contributions everyday.
