The AOS Day Program specializes in delivering a high quality Day Program to individuals with Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).
Clients are involved in small and large group programs during the day, based on their interests and abilities. One on one programs can be offered when volunteer support is available. Activities offered include: regular physical exercise, cognitive stimulation geared to the clients’ abilities, Montessori programs, art therapy, aroma therapy, horticulture, games adapted to various levels of functioning, crafts, music and sing alongs, dancing, baking, walks indoors and outdoors, theme days, etc. The goal is always to have clients succeed in whatever activity they chose to participate in.
The Day Program staff (Recreation Program Specialist, Nursing and Social Work) maintains close contact with family caregivers and monitors the health and social/recreational well-being of each client. Transportation to and from the program is available for the day program hours of 9:30 am to 3:00 pm and extended hours at 7:00 pm. It is a service provided by the Boys' and Girls' Club Senior Transit. Fees Day Program fees are based on the hours of service utilized. |
